Time Garden Guide
/garden is a WebGL isometric 3D farm diorama. Every visitor can plant a crop: click an empty field tile, a crop grows from a random seed, and you can leave a line to be printed on its specimen tag. No account needed - if you've arrived, you're a gardener.
How to plant
- Find an empty plot on the islands and click it
- A message box pops up; write a line (up to 30 characters, or leave it empty)
- Confirm, and the plant takes root and starts growing
The seed is generated at random, so your flower is one of a kind on the whole site - leaf shape, petal color, and posture all flow from that one seed, and nobody, including you, can predict the final form.
Three growth stages
Plants pass through three stages in real time:
| Stage | Timing |
|---|---|
| Sprout | The first hour after planting |
| Growing | From 1 hour to 24 hours |
| Bloom | At the 24-hour mark |
You don't need to stand watch - come back the next day and your flower is already open. Bloomed flowers never wilt; they stay on the islands as specimens, for good.
Specimen tags and messages
The line you wrote while planting is printed on that plant's specimen tag. Anyone who clicks the flower later reads your words along with its coordinates. Put another way: every flower in the garden is a sentence someone left behind while passing through one day.
Rules and limits
- No planting on water or beyond the island edges - the system will ask you to pick another spot
- Flowers need breathing room: you can't plant pressed right up against another
- Three plants per IP per day - come back tomorrow
- The islands are open to every visitor; click any flower to read its tag
Worth slowing down for
Walk a full lap around the farm and read the tags - that's the right way to visit this page. Where your three plants end up and what they say will become part of the scenery in someone else's eyes, too.
